The map tells a story of the scope and size of this operation known as D-Day, or the official name was “Operation Overlord”
We tend to forget what was done for freedom. Each year as we commemorate what was accomplished that day back in 1944 when this great plan came together. The size of this operation was one that no one had ever thought of before, bringing the manpower and equipment needed to accomplish this operation was nothing more than genius.
When we start looking at the operation and see what was lost so you could enjoy the life you do today. I kind of want to cry! So many have no respect for the nation that has ensured freedom for so many. It is true we as a nation has its flaws, however, if you look at the people that make up this great nation you will see why it is the best nation in the world.
My father was a WWII veteran, I often wondered why he was burdened with his alcohol addiction, the more I look into what his generation went through, I tend to forgive a lot more of the past that plagued myself.
