Dr. David Yates
[00:00:00] Ed Watters: Today, we are speaking with Dr. David Yates. He is a doctor of [00:01:00] chiropractic medicine, and he actually has some enlightening things to share with us today. David, could you please introduce yourself and let people know just a little bit about you, please?
[00:01:14] Dr. David Yates: Be very happy to do that, Ed. And thank you for having me on the show. Um, as Ed mentioned, um, I am a, uh, doctor of chiropractic. Uh, I specialize in the upper neck. Um, in the profession we, we call it upper cervical specific chiropractic. Uh, I graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles in 2007. Um, I’ve practiced in five different states, most recently here in California, where I’m from. Uh, born and raised in the L. A. area. Uh, did some undergraduate work at, um, a college called Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I got a bachelor’s in Spanish, minor in [00:02:00] business, and now a doctorate in chiropractic. Um, and most recently, uh, I’ve come across a technology that hopefully we’ll be able to talk a little bit about, um, during this session called, uh, phototherapy. Um, and a company called LifeWave, uh, which is a global wellness technology company that I came across in February. And I’m really, really excited, um, about their technology, um, and how it relates to what I do, uh, as a chiropractor. So.
[00:02:33] Ed Watters: I found that technology kind of unique in what it says it does. And I really want to dive right into that, get it out of the way, because I really think that we’re going to have a great conversation today. But this, this is a simple patch, and I don’t want to say simple because I’m not aware of [00:03:00] the full value within this patch, so why don’t you dive in and tell us about the technology and what is inside of this patch.
[00:03:12] Dr. David Yates: Yeah. No, that’s a great topic. We’re gonna have fun talking about this. Um, LifeWave, uh, the actual company, started, um, back in 2004. And the very first patch that they manufactured, um, this phototherapy patch, was called Energy Enhancer. And I’m sure, I’m sure you guys remember, uh, uh, uh, uh, Michael Phelps from the, I think it was the 2008 Olympics where he won all those gold medals. He was actually using this energy patch on his body while he was swimming in that Olympics. And I’m not going to say that that’s a reason that he won all the gold medals, I’m not going to say that. But [00:04:00] I will say that, um, as a world class athlete, Michael Phelps was using this technology, and it was very new technology. Um, and these patches, what they do, um, and I’m not, I’m not a scientist, I’m not an expert in phototherapy. You, who, who you would want to have on your show is, is David Schmidt, who’s the CEO of, uh, LifeWave. He’s an inventor.
Um, his, his role model growing up was Thomas Edison and, um, he just wanted to invent things that would enhance human performance, um, enhance our ability as human beings to, uh, be healthy naturally. Um, he, he definitely saw a shift in healthcare where we were becoming very medicated, um, as, as not only a nation, but in the world. Um, and, and didn’t see much [00:05:00] progress in the fight on cancer and all these other things that started way back in 1971 with, uh, President Nixon when he declared war on cancer. Um, which, you know, coincidentally was the same time he took the dollar off of the gold standard, uh, which led to a lot, I think, in my opinion, a lot of our economic problems that we have. But anyway, um, you know, David Schmidt, what he did is he manufactured this patch. Um, and this is years of being in the lab and, and, you know, thinking about this. Um, he, what he has done is he’s manipulated different, um, quanta of, of light waves, light wavelengths, okay? See, what people don’t understand and what, and what I have been educating people about ever since I became a doctor is that, especially as a chiropractor, is that our bodies, every living thing emits, uh, light, [00:06:00] infrared light, okay?
And this goes back to our school days, um, photosynthesis, synthesis, okay? When, you know, we learned about, you know, if you plant a seed in the ground, okay, and you give it water, um, without light, without sunlight, it’s not going to grow, okay? And then once it does start growing, that seed, um, it needs light. It needs the perfect balance of light, okay? Sunlight, okay, and water, right, to grow. And our bodies emit infrared light continuously. So does, so does, um, plants, any, any living thing, animals, all of it, okay? And so, you know, focusing on us as human beings, um, when you put this patch on your body, and the, the ingredients is, is very simple ingredients,
there’s, there’s different sugars, amino acids, different, um, [00:07:00] minerals and things. And it’s, it’s patented. Uh, and the reason it’s patented is because, um, of, of what it does. This latest patch, which, uh, I was, I was introduced to in February of this year, which was actually manufactured, um, in 2019. Cause we have like ten different phototherapy patches in this company. The energy patch was the first one that Michael Phelps used, but I’ve only used X39. And what it does is it actually elevates GHK copper peptide in the body, which activates, uh, dormant stem cells. And this is, this is revolutionary because anybody who knows about stem cell research and stem cell therapy, um, I mean, first of all, it’s extremely expensive, but the results are amazing.
You know, stem cells can replicate any cell type in the body. And the, the most famous case was, and I don’t, I don’t remember [00:08:00] the details of this case because I wasn’t even, uh, my focus back in 2018 when stem cell therapy really started to get, um, popular and, and you know, it was on Time Magazine and there were all these articles and they basically, um, originated from a case in which they injected stem cells from, um, that they extracted from an umbilical cord, you know, uh, of a baby, uh, natural born baby, healthy baby. They extracted these, um, uh, uh, stem cells and they injected them in the knee of this patient that was considering, uh, knee replacement because of the degeneration in the tissues of the knee. And through those stem cell injections and that, and like I said, I don’t, I don’t remember, um, the details because my focus has been chiropractic my entire life.
That’s what, you know, my, my studies have been in. Um, [00:09:00] but, but anyway, as a result, um, this individual, the, it regenerated the, the tissue, um, the knee tissue, the, you know, the meniscus, the cartilage, the bone that was degenerated, and it was a huge breakthrough. Um, and so now you can get stem cell injection, it’s come a long way. And I, like I said, I’m not an expert on this. But on this patch, that’s what, that’s what really intrigued me about this, this X39 patch that I’ve been wearing off and on, on my body since February is that, um, you don’t need injections and, and it’s so inexpensive. I mean, one patch is like three dollars and fifty cents.
Less than your cappuccino at Starbucks each day, you know, for, for one day treatment of stem cell for twenty-four hours, okay? Because you can wear this patch on your body. And that’s, that’s what I do since I started using it, I just slap it on my [00:10:00] body. Um, I, I wear it until I take a shower, you know, I take it off to take a shower and then when I’m done taking a shower, I put it back on, um, that’s what I was doing when I first started using it. Now I only use it like three times a week. You can use it every day, it’s safe. It’s 100 percent organic, it’s non allergenic. It has all this organic material in it. But somehow it manipulates the infrared light that our body admits at different wavelengths to either elevate or decrease certain chemicals or peptides in the body.
Um, for instance, we have a glutathione patch and, you know, people know that glutathione is the master antioxidant of the body. We have a, and what it does is it elevates glutathione naturally in your body when you wear this patch on your body. And then we have another patch called Silent Nights that elevates melatonin. Um, but what’s, what’s unique about this type of treatment, Ed, [00:11:00] is that it works synergistically with the innate intelligence of the body. Um, and, and that’s what’s so fascinating and so revolutionary about it, in my opinion, because, you know, we as doctors, you know, we can inject certain things. We can inject GHK copper peptide into the body, okay?
But are we, you know, what I’ve learned as a doctor is that too much of a good thing is not a good thing anymore. You know, I’ll use hyponatremia as my example. You know, everybody knows that water is very important for health and for survival, right? Um, but if you drink too much water too quickly, you can die from that. It’s, it’s a condition called hyponatremia in which it saturates the sodium in your body. And so health is all about balance, you know, the balance between sodium, potassium, the balance and, and hormones, the balance, [00:12:00] uh, you know, you, I could go on and on about all these different things. Um, but too much of a good thing is not a good thing anymore, and so we don’t always know as doctors, you know, how much is needed.
Um, but our body always knows what’s right. What is the right balance of hormones, minerals, uh, vitamins, all that. Um, and so that’s, that’s what I love about this technology and what it does. And another thing, it does no harm. I mean, if you look at the Hippocratic Oath, every doctor, when I became a doctor, I took the oath that, the Hippocratic Oath, which says do no harm. You know, are we doing that as medical doctors in today’s, you know, society? No, we’re not. We’re actually, iatrogenic disease, uh, many years is the number one cause of death. Not cancer, not heart disease, iatrogenic disease. Doing what your [00:13:00] doctor told you to do. Taking that medication, or going to the hospital, or getting that surgery.
Too much of a good thing is not a good thing anymore and medical doctors don’t know what that is. But guess what? The innate intelligence of your body always knows. And this technology works synergistically. I don’t know how it does, you know, like I said, this, whatever’s in that patch is patented. I don’t know exactly what, I’ve just been told, uh, amino acids, you know, some sugars, stuff like that. The Chinese have already tried to steal this technology. But David Schmidt, the CEO of LifeWave, was so smart that, you know, he, he, he made it so when you cut the patch open, it deactivates it. So you can’t really study it. And so the Chinese wasn’t, weren’t able to replicate, um, the technology. It’s, it’s LifeWave’s technology, and he’s not giving it up to anybody, and I’m happy that he’s not. And I’m happy to be a part of LifeWave.[00:14:00]
[00:14:00] Ed Watters: Very interesting. And I do encourage people to look that up, uh, X39 is the patch name, and, from LifeWave. Interesting. So let’s segue into that balance thing, because as you know, David, our world is kind of topsy turvy right now, and there really is no balance. I recently had an interview with Dr. Fred Moss, and he’s known as the undoctor. And he highlights, you don’t need medication. What you were just saying right there, there are so many doctors and, you know, clinicians standing up and speaking out about all of these medical atrocities that have been happening in our nation and our world. I think [00:15:00] that’s a very positive step in the right direction. Tell me your take on that, please.
[00:15:08] Dr. David Yates: I, I agree 100%. I, I love seeing it. It’s sad that we basically had to have a manufactured pandemic in order for medical doctors and people in general to start realizing that, look, what we’re doing is not working, okay? We do not have a health care system, we have what’s called a sick care system. And it’s all based on profits, unfortunately, dominated by the pharmaceutical industry, okay? The pharmaceutical industry exists for profit, okay? Don’t let them fool you into thinking that they’re trying to find a cure for cancer, that’s bullshit, okay? Cancer is a multi billion dollar, um, maker for the pharmaceutical industry, okay? [00:16:00] Um, and their marketing plan is keep sick people sick so they will continue to use our product and we will continue to be lucrative,
okay? And unfortunately, um, they dominate it. You know, the person with the most money has the most control, right? I mean, that’s pretty basic to any civilization, right? If you have the money, you have the control. So, the pharmaceutical industry controls our healthcare, uh, system. And being a healthcare provider, it’s been very, very frustrating, um, to me the last seventeen years that I’ve been a doctor and learned about this. Because I knew nothing about this before I became a chiropractor, but as I learned more and more about how the body works and how our healthcare system works, you know, you just have to keep fighting against it, really. Because, um, but like you [00:17:00] said, it’s good to see that medical doctors are waking up and they’re saying, Yeah, this isn’t right, okay? We need to get away from the allopathic philosophy of health. I mean, it’s, you know, in, in an emergency situation, or to basically make a terminal cancer patient comfortable, then yes, that, that’s when you use medication,
okay? Um, but really, if you look at the statistics, I mean, more than fifty percent of all Americans suffer from at least one chronic illness, okay? And you, you don’t go, you don’t go the allopathic route when you have a chronic health issue. The reason being is that all you’re going to get is medication. See, and, and just to define it for those that aren’t familiar with the allopathic philosophy of health. This goes all the way back to [00:18:00] Hippocrates, the father of medicine, um, that basically if there’s something wrong with the body, you need to give, you need to add something to the body or take something away from the body. That’s the allopathic philosophy of health. And I concur with that in an emergency situation.
But most healthcare issues are not emergency situations, they’re chronic situations from people, um, you know, not using their body to heal themselves. That, that’s the chiropractic philosophy. The vitalistic philosophy of health is that you don’t need to add anything to the body or take anything away from the body, the body is fully equipped to heal itself as long as you facilitate it via the nervous system. And, and that’s, if there’s anything that your listeners learn from this episode, Ed, it is that. [00:19:00] That the nervous system is the key, okay? The nervous system, the communication system of your body, as long as there’s no interference to it, it can heal anything and does maintain homeostasis or balance perfectly.
[00:19:22] Ed Watters: I like that a lot. You know, that’s powerful, you know, balances everything. And, and instead of telling people, here, take this statin for your cholesterol, why isn’t it being controlled through diet and education about what you are intaking? Uh, a big soda, and juju fruits, and potato chips, all of these deadly things that we are putting into our [00:20:00] body is really the epidemic that we’re facing today. And I had to find that out the hard way. You know, I, I shocked my system. And I was obese and I broke my system and it wasn’t until I took responsibility and started educating myself instead of trying to listen to the doctor that is there to take my money,
this is when I actually started recovering. And I convinced my wife to follow in those footsteps. And the moment I heard her tell her doctor, No, I’m listening to my husband because it’s working, that blew me away. And I, I really saw, yes, this is the way everyone should be approaching their own health. However, [00:21:00] there, there are so many people that are so weak in knowing themselves that they want somebody to tell them how to live and maintain their life. That’s how I see that.
[00:21:17] Dr. David Yates: Yeah. And, and the thing is, I mean, that’s tradition. I mean, we’re working against thousands and thousands of years of tradition here, Ed. I mean, you know, how many, how many, how many thousands of years have people been going to a medical doctor? I mean, even in the times of Jesus, you know? And I’m a very religious person. But I’ve read the bible, I studied the bible several times. And you know what, what, and you know, there’s examples in the bible of, you know, physicians putting leeches on people’s skin to, to bring out the blood, you know? Like I said, The allopathic philosophy, we need to drain that person’s blood because the [00:22:00] disease is in the blood. No, the, the disease is that your body’s not communicating well with yourself.
And that’s, that’s why I specialize in the upper neck. Because if you look at the anatomy and the physiology of the body, okay, um, first of all, you know, if I could only adjust one bone, if I was only allowed to adjust one bone in the spine, it would be the atlas. Why? Well, first of all, it subluxates more than any other bone in the spine, bar none. There’s no disc above it or below it to stabilize it. It holds up your head, which weighs ten to fourteen pounds, you know? There’s going to be an atlanto, what we call an atlanto-occipital misalignment, okay? The occiput, the base of your skull, the atlas is right below it. And guess what that atlas protects? It protects your brainstem
which is the switchboard operator of all communication in the [00:23:00] body. When the brain sends a message to the body, okay, it has to pass through the brainstem. And the, and in our brainstem is our cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive centers, all involuntary muscle contraction is controlled in the medulla oblongata. So if you, if you’ve studied physiology and you understand these things and you also understand the anatomy, those are the two key, the two keys, anatomy and the physiology. You have to, you have to focus in that area as a doctor because you’re going to have a more global effect on that person’s health. And that’s, that’s what you have to have because like I said, this body is very complicated,
it’s very complex. The, that we have an infinite, think of this, Ed, we have an infinite number of chemical reactions that are taking place in our body every few moments. Now, we as human beings, we [00:24:00] don’t understand that term infinite. Because what that means is without beginning and without end. That’s a number that we can’t comprehend. The only person or individual that can comprehend that is God. And, you know, everybody has their different God. I believe in the God from the Bible. Um, and that’s why I do chiropractic because it’s the only, it’s the only profession that really has taught me about that infinit, that, that innate intelligence that I already knew about before I became a chiropractor. Because I studied the Bible and I knew that the spirit that gives the body life, that gives this tissue life, is what gives all of us life.
I mean, as a doctor, I, I dissected three cadavers in the lab, in my anatomy lab, when I was getting my doctorate. The only difference, Ed, between a cadaver and you and I, or anybody else who’s [00:25:00] alive is the spirit. And, and the spirit is the innate intelligence of the body. And the infrared light that our body emits, that this phototherapy patch that we were talking about earlier, that is, you know, that’s our spirit. That’s what gives our body life. We would, we would not function at all, nothing would function. We wouldn’t, we wouldn’t, we wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for that spirit. And chiropractic works with that because that spirit is emanated through the nervous system. It’s the only system of our body that has a connection with every cell in our body. Every cell, you know?
[00:25:39] Ed Watters: Interesting. You know, you bring up the Bible and that’s where my wife and I, we turn for inspiration. And when we went through all of this and I had my grand epiphany, I actually turned to the Bible [00:26:00] for that diet and cutting out the pork and, you know, going, going to school about, why does this 2000 year old book tell us about healthy eating? There’s a reason for that. And it’s, it’s told to us to be clean with our system, our body which brings that balance. And, and a lot of people they get very irate when you bring up religion. But I’ll tell you, I love talking about religion and politics because they’re the driving forces in our world and so many people get angry about the things that you can control, that’s where it really lies. And if, if you [00:27:00] don’t put your mind in the right space and take charge of that space, well, you can see what happens to our world. The Bible, Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, I believe that a hundred percent. And I’ve always been sort of religious. But in the last, since 2017, 2017, I’ve really gotten serious about things because this is where you’re going to find out who you truly are.
[00:27:39] Dr. David Yates: That’s correct. And you know, I’m, it’s so great that you mentioned that because I’m actually writing my autobiography right now and I’ve, I’ve entitled it God, Health, and Relationships. Because I’m fifty- five years old, um, I’ve lived a very full life, [00:28:00] very full life, Ed. Um, I, I’ve been married, I have five children, I’ve been divorced for six years. I’ve lived in foreign countries, um, I, you know, I’m a doctor, I’m educated, uh, uh, but, you know, and I come from a very dysfunctional family. So the most that I’ve learned in my life, in my fifty-five year old life is, the most I know about is, God, health, and relationships. And so that’s what I’ve entitled my autobiography.
I hope to finish it, um, next year sometime. Um, and it’s just a chronological, uh, depiction of my life and what I’ve learned and things like you just mentioned. You know, you learned how to eat clean from the Bible, okay? Well, I’ve been taught that stuff my whole life, you didn’t, you know, you, you learned it later in life. I learned it very early in life, and I’ve been, uh, implementing it in my life, my entire life and it [00:29:00] served me very well. I mean, I, I am optimally healthy. Um, I feel that I have great balance physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. The only thing I lack is the financial, but that was, that was the burden that, you know, that was kind of like the Achilles heel for me that the Lord was testing me.
And the purpose of this life, it’s a test, okay? The reason we’re here on this planet is to be tested, um, to see how well we obey what our Father, our Creator, um, has, you know? What He, what He knows, He, see, He knows what’s best for us, you know? And this is something that I’ve, like, like, like I said, I’ve been taught since birth, fortunately. Not everybody has that fortune. Um, but when I was nineteen years old, okay, I served a two year mission for my church in Costa [00:30:00] Rica. And for two years straight, twelve hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year for two years, that’s all I did was teach these things to the inhabitants of Costa Rica. Um, and it was the most fulfilling, groundbreaking, life changing experience at the age of nineteen.
So imagine, imagine graduating from high school and, and, and, and going to a foreign country where you’re not working, you’re not studying, you can’t have a girlfriend, you’re not making any money, you’re just dedicating, you’re sacrificing, twenty-four hours a day, all your time to your Creator. There’s nothing like it, Ed. And it changed my life and it actually, that’s the reason why I got a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, that’s the reason why I got a doctorate in chiropractic, and that’s [00:31:00] exactly why I’m doing what I’m doing today. Because what does the Bible say? What does, what does Christ leave His disciples with right before He’s crucified?
Love one another. I give you a new commandment, love one another. Are we doing that in society today? No, we are not loving one another. The way that I love my neighbor, because the two greatest commandments are this, love God with all your heart, mind, and strength and love your neighbor. That, what that does is that encapulates, okay, the Ten Commandments from the Old Testament. If you look at the Ten Commandments that Moses was given in the Old Testament, the first three are about loving God. The last seven are about loving your neighbor. So when Christ came to fulfill the Mosaic Law, The law of Moses, in the New Testament, he simplified it for us because he knew that, [00:32:00] you know, in our day, things were going to be complicated
and we as human beings love to complicate things. Let’s keep it simple. Love me, the way you love me is obeying my commandments. That’s, that’s how you as a human being love God. That’s how you show your love for God is by keeping what he has commanded us to do. And then, oh, by the way, love your fellow man, okay? I do that by being a doctor. I do that, and I try to do that, Ed, in every interaction I have, whether it’s with my patients or, or a, or a homeless person on the street. I am loving my neighbor 24/7, or trying to, every opportunity I have.
[00:32:44] Ed Watters: Yep. You know, and, and to just add to that, I, I always, when I’m dealing with things like that, and some people are very difficult to love. You know, let’s be honest. [00:33:00] But when I’m dealing with people and forces like that, I always take it right back to the cross itself. And, you know, it really highlights that He died for us, He cares about us. And some of the last bits of wisdom that he departed to us is, forgive them father for they know not what they do. And it is so relieving when you live by that because it really teaches you to be more empathetic towards your fellow man.
[00:33:43] Dr. David Yates: Absolutely. And you know, the law of Moses was created to basically, um, prepare Israel, you know, the people of God, to prepare Israel for the Savior, Jesus Christ, you know? And then when He came, [00:34:00] they didn’t even recognize Him. I mean, He was rejected by all the leaders of the Jewish nation, you know, the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and all that. But, you know, if you look at His teachings and His three year ministry, one of the things He says on the Sermon on the Mount is, love your enemies. So, you know, if you look at it this way, and this is what my, my church has taught me is, that you, you have the letter of the law and then you have the spirit of the law, okay? The letter of the law is the law of Moses, okay? And why was that law given? Because this was a very rebellious people, they, they, they weren’t, you know, they were unbelieving, they were, you know, they, they weren’t, they weren’t people of gratitude for their blessing, you know? I mean, they were very stiff necked, you know, you hear that term in Scripture.
They’re a very stiff necked person, which means a prideful person. A prideful person is not teachable, [00:35:00] okay? And what did, what did, uh, Christ say to the Pharisees? You know, Oh, you hypocrites, you know? You know, you’re prideful people. Um, and so that, that letter of the law is, okay, you need to wash your cup a certain way, you can’t, you can’t take more than these steps on the Sabbath day. Where, you know, all these things were, all these rules were to basically help the, them, be, uh, be ready for the spirit of the law, which is what Christ taught on the Sermon on the Mount, when He said, you know, You’ve heard it written in the law, you know, um, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
You remember this? Okay? You, that, that was the law of Moses, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, okay? But I teach you a higher law, to love your, your enemy, okay? To love your enemy, that’s hard to do. And I think that’s what you were referring to. Um, you know, [00:36:00] there, there’s, there’s people very difficult to love. But here’s the thing, it goes back, and my favorite, by the way, my favorite chapter in all of Scripture, and, and I don’t just use, The Bible, um, I’m LDS, so I use other scripture as well, but all the scriptures that I have ever read, my favorite chapter, my favorite chapter in all the scripture is Matthew chapter seven.
And if you look at Matthew chapter seven, and I would encourage your listeners to go back and read and study and meditate about Matthew chapter seven, that is a guidebook, okay? That chapter is a guide for life right there. I mean, Christ is the best life coach you’re ever going to have. And in that chapter, chapter seven of Matthew, He lays it down in just a couple, you know, what? twenty-five verses, you know? [00:37:00] If you do these things, you’re, you’re going to be ready for my, when I come again, or you’re going to be ready for the second coming. Which, you know, um, followers of Christ, that’s what we’re waiting for right now. We’re waiting for Him to come and end this reign of Satan because we, we know that Satan reigns on the earth today,
okay? He’s all about power, he’s all about money, okay? But none of those things are important to God and Jesus Christ, okay? Um, none of those things, okay? Uh, you know, we’re given our freedom. We’re given, we, we came here with free agency to choose whatever we want to choose. But that’s, that’s the test is that so many people are making bad choices and, and their lives aren’t as happy or joyful because of it. Whether it’s taking medications or, you know, or, or smoking or, you know, uh, having sex or, you know, [00:38:00] with, with people that they shouldn’t, you know? All these things are, you know, God tries to protect us with the commandments. It’s not, it’s not to take away our freedom.
It’s actually to give us more freedom and to be happier. Because how, how free are you, Ed? If you’re lying in, in, you know, if you’re in a hospital and you can’t breathe because you smoked cigarettes your whole life and you have cancer or something like that. How free is somebody with health problems. You know, but, but thou shall not do these things, you know? Um, and we can, we could talk for days on this stuff, but, you know? It’s just, if you just remember those two things, love God, love your neighbor, that’s religion in a nutshell. You don’t even have to go to church. You know, if you’re doing those things, then you’re doing what God wants you to do. Um, so anyway.
[00:38:54] Ed Watters: Yeah. Well, well, you know, it’s a good talk to have. [00:39:00] Discovering these principles can really turn a life around. And, you know, I, I don’t dish on anybody for where they are in life. I really want them to meet me where they are. And this is what I’m here for, you know, I’m not here to judge. You know, judge not lest ye be judged, you know, and I’m so terrified of that right there. And I, I really depend
[00:39:34] Dr. David Yates: Well, that, that’s, that’s chapter seven. That’s Matthew chapter seven. That’s how it, that’s how it begins, judge not lest you be judged, okay? And, and the interesting thing about, yeah, and the interesting thing about that verse is that, um, really us as human beings, it’s, it’s, it’s impossible for us not to judge. I mean, think of it. When you see it, when you see a person for, [00:40:00] for, for the first time, you’re, you, you make a, a split judgment right there. That person’s beautiful, that person’s ugly, that person’s skinny, that person’s fat. It’s impossible not to judge. What Christ is talking about in Matthew seven is that, He’s, He’s, what He’s saying to us is we shouldn’t judge unrighteously. Which means, and what that actually means is that if you’re gonna judge, okay? And, and, and I heard a, I heard a statement one time that was just profound, that has always stayed with me.
And it was one of the leaders in my church said this, he said, he said, Be slow to judge, quick to seek understanding, okay? And, and, and that’s, that’s really what Christ is saying in Matthew chapter seven, because Christ knows that we’re gonna judge. That we, that we, we’re gonna fall [00:41:00] short when it comes to that commandment. What He encourages us to do is to seek understanding. Well, how do you seek understanding? The way you seek understanding, Ed, is exactly what you and I are doing right now. We’re having an open, honest communication about what’s in our hearts and what’s in our minds. That’s how you get to know somebody.
And then once you know them, you shouldn’t judge them. Because the only person who knows us fully, all of us, to our core, is Jesus Christ. And He’s the one that’s going to judge us. What we do is we’ve been commanded to love each other, no matter what. Okay? You know, but how can you love somebody that you don’t know? How can you love even God if you don’t know Him? How do you get to know Him? By reading His words. The words that He’s, that, that He’s revealed to His prophets and His [00:42:00] apostles. That’s how you get to know God, okay? And once you know Him, you’re going to love Him so much more. I, I’m a testament to that. I, I am in, so in love with God. I love God more than even my own children, okay? Because I know Him so well, okay? But it’s the same for us as human beings, the better we know each other through open honest communication and sharing our true feelings and not lying to each other, we’re gonna love each other much more. That’s, that’s the key. That’s the key to creating more love in our society.
[00:42:39] Ed Watters: You know, and I, I really like that you highlighted the same thing that Abraham went through when he was asked to sacrifice Isaac. And you know, it’s very interesting, I have that same mentality. I [00:43:00] tell my wife I love God first and then you, you know? And that’s not, that’s not a bad thing. And, and I tell her, yes, I tell her you must have the same mindset. Don’t love me before Christ, because you are messing up when you do that. And, and, that really is a, a strong thing when you put that in your relationship.
[00:43:38] Dr. David Yates: And see, my ex wife did not understand that, Ed. And, and that was a big reason why I divorced her. Um, and unfortunately, she has treated me like an enemy. But really I love, I love her. She is the mother of my five beautiful healthy [00:44:00] children that I love more than anything, okay? Um, but, but, but she felt, she felt like I didn’t love her anymore when really she didn’t understand. And the reason she didn’t understand is because she wasn’t a good communicator. She didn’t love God more than me or life. And I love the analogy that you give about Abraham and Isaac, because that, that was a precursor for what God did, you know, with Jesus, with His, His, His, yeah, yeah, with His son, Jesus Christ, you know? That, that was a foreshadowing of what was to come. And it was a lesson for Abraham, and it was a test for Abraham. And Abraham, he passed that test. That’s a, that’s a great faith building story from the Old Testament. And by the way, every, every story, [00:45:00] everything that we read in the Old Testament, it’s all about building our faith. Which is a belief in something that is true, that is not seen. How do we know what is true? We know what is true through the Holy Ghost.
Well, we know the Holy Ghost is a third member of the Godhead, the Trinity. You got God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Every, we’ve been given everything we need to, to be able to return to our Heavenly Father at the end of this life. And as a Christian, I’m sure you believe, um, in the resurrection and life after this. And that’s what this life is preparation for. It’s, it’s really the test to know where we’re, are we going to be able to, are we going to live with God after this life or not? You know, because that’s going to be the, that’s the greatest gift that He can give to us is eternal life, living with Him. It’s only possible through Jesus Christ. If Jesus Christ had not [00:46:00] suffered for our sins and overcame spiritual and physical death on the, on the cross, um, then, then it wouldn’t have been possible. But it is possible. And like I said, we were given everything we need and, and that’s what’s most important. If people realize that this life is temporary, that it’s in preparation for, um, infinity. Which is after this life, which is going to last forever. I mean, this life is only a millisecond in the big scheme of things. Um, and, and that’s, that’s what we’re preparing for. And, and it’s sad that we don’t see that, you know? You don’t, uh, in our country, we’re not, we’re, we’re more focused on like making money. And, you know, it’s just, it’s sad. It’s, it’s sad, you know? The, the state that we find ourselves in, yeah.
[00:46:55] Ed Watters: You know, David, I myself, I’m [00:47:00] about to turn fifty-nine. And in one week, I have been married to my beautiful wife for thirty-nine years. And that is difficult. And, and it’s something I am, I’m proud of. And, and
[00:47:20] Dr. David Yates: That is not easy. Wow. I, I salute you. I, I mean, yeah, that is, that is awesome.
[00:47:32] Ed Watters: Really, it’s one of those things about what we talked about earlier, communicating. This is when I found the most bliss out of my relationship is when I truly turned it over to God and said, I will no longer lie to my wife. I will tell my wife how it is. You know, this is how it is. And it’s up to both of [00:48:00] us to change it if we want it to change. But, you know, and putting those orders into your life, your relationship, no matter where you are, it is possible to find that fulfillment. And it really does start with the higher power. And if you don’t find that higher power, I really do believe that you’re stumbling in the darkness and you’re kind of lost.
Yeah. So, you know, what, what we do here, podcasting, this conversation, we actually encourage and enlighten people. Because so many of these young people today are so fearful to stand up and say, I believe in Christ and [00:49:00] that is dangerous. And we, we are on the verge of something incredible in our whole life, our whole existence. And I really feel that we’re close to these days of the end that we’ve been waiting for. And if you are watching and you are paying attention to what is happening in our whole world today, we are right on the verge of an anticipated return that many people laugh at today.
[00:49:41] Dr. David Yates: That’s correct, Ed. And I, I, I don’t, I believe that you believe in personal revelation based, just based on what you’ve been telling me about your personal life, Ed. Um, I know that you know that you, as a son [00:50:00] of your creator and of God, that He wants to guide you through this life. He knows that this life is difficult and that there would be stumbling blocks constantly, but that’s why He’s given us the Holy Ghost. That’s, that’s why the Holy Ghost is the third member of the, the Godhead. And like I said, that, that is the only way to discern between truth and error is the Holy Ghost. Um, and there’s so many voices out there, and there’s so many lies, and there’s so many, you know, deception. I mean, Satan is the master of deception. The scriptures teach us that. And, um, so, you know, I really believe in personal revelation. And just in the last three years, Ed, um, the Lord has, has revealed to me personally some, some very sacred [00:51:00] things and, and some things that, um, I knew came from Him. Because the Holy Ghost, because the Holy Ghost verified that it was truth coming, that it wasn’t like society, or Satan, or, you know, the internet, or what, no, that this was truth and it was true for me personally to help me get through this life
and, and, and get to the end. Which I agree with you, I, I really believe it’s going to happen really within the next thirty or forty years. I believe christ will, will be here for sure. And I also believe that I’m, and, and I believe I’m going to be alive for it and that, and that I’m going to be in his army, um, during the millennium, which is that thousand years that is talked about in the scriptures in which satan will be bound. And, you know, for many people, you know, [00:52:00] politics is Satan. I mean, there’ve been movies made about it. The Omen, you know? You know, these great classic movies that were right. Yeah, Damien, you know? Um, you know, but that’s, it’s what we’re going to have is, we’re going to have a united world, okay? Satan’s going to be bound, okay? Um, we’re going to have a united world
and Christ is going to be the king. He’s going to be the ruler. He’s going to be the leader for those thousands, for that thousand years. And what are we going to be doing? We’re going to be doing His work. What is His work? Malachi four, four through six, the last verses of the Old Testament teaches us, okay, it, it, it warns us, it, it, it, it says this is what we need to be doing or we’re going to be utterly destroyed at His coming. And that is turning the hearts of the [00:53:00] Father to the children and the children to the Father. That’s relationship, that’s loving each other. That’s, that’s, that’s obeying the commandments, that’s doing, okay, the will of the Lord. And, and each one of us is responsible to find out what the will of the Lord for their personal lives are.
I, I did it way back in December of 2018. And like I said, um, you know, I, I’ve been, I’ve been, uh, a faithful member of my church and, and living the gospel of Jesus Christ my whole life. But guess what, Ed? Things were not going as planned, and I had a really good plan, you know? I was a doctor, I had married, I had married a, a faith, faithful woman that I knew, you know, loved God as well, okay? I had children. I was, I was multiplying and replenishing the earth, [00:54:00] which is the second commandment that, that God gave to Adam and Eve in the garden. The first was do not partake of this fruit, okay? And the second was multiply and replenish the earth.
[00:54:15] Ed Watters: That’s interesting. You just, you just, uh, corrected me of my thinking, David, because I always tell people it, it was the first commandment of the Bible, but you are absolutely correct. The first commandment is don’t partake of the eating of the fruit. I’m glad you corrected me of that. See, we, we always should be learning, and if we’re paying attention, we’ll discover those little hidden truths. And, and I think that’s important for people.
[00:54:55] Dr. David Yates: And that, and interesting enough, that is something that I’ve learned just this [00:55:00] year. And I, I’ve been, I, I thought as you did, I, I thought, as you did prior to this year. And I can’t remember who I was talking to, um, actually, I think I was talking to my best friend, I was, my best friend, Valerie. I was talking to her, um, and, and, you know, the, and the reason she’s my best friend, Ed, is because this, this woman is, um, she is such an inspiration to me. But she, she loves me and, and she, she appeases my love language, which is quality time defined by communication. See, that, that was something that my ex wife didn’t do.
And I didn’t want to continue to live a lie. And I actually prayed and fasted for six weeks straight before I decided to divorce my, my ex wife of eighteen years. Um, because I didn’t, you know, I felt that I had made the right decision in [00:56:00] marrying her back in 2000, but in 2018, at the very beginning of 2018, you know, we had gone through a lot of things, and I, and she, I didn’t, I didn’t feel that she was the same person that I had married, you know, eighteen years earlier. But at the same time, like we’ve discussed earlier in this podcast, God comes first. You know, what is your will, God, in this situation? Because I’ll tell you, because, God, if you want me to remain married to this woman, I will remain married to her and I will not break up this family of seven. You know, we had five kids at the time. So I prayed and fasted about it and I never received the confirmation of the Holy Ghost that I should remain married to her. And so, and I didn’t want to live a lie because I knew that our relationship was not right,
it was not [00:57:00] right between us. Um, God was not happy with our relationship, and our relationship wasn’t right. And, and so, that’s why I would have never, see if God would have told me through the Holy Ghost, if He would have confirmed through the Holy Ghost that I was to remain married to her, I would have stayed married to her. But He never did that. And see, that’s how I knew what was right for me and my will, or His will in my life. And as a result of that, I have learned things like what you just, like, like what I just said. That the first commandment wasn’t to multiply and replenish the earth, it was actually do not partake of the fruit. And, you know, we, we decide how important these things are in our lives because each one of us, Ed, are at different levels spiritually.
We’re at different levels of our relationship with God. But this, like I said, this life is our [00:58:00] opportunity to get to know God. Because if we don’t know Him, like it says in Matthew chapter seven, when He comes again, and we, you know, we come to Him and say, Oh, you know, praise the Lord. And He says, You never knew me. What do you mean? I prophesied in your name, I, you know, I loved my neighbor, I did it. No, you never knew me. He’s only gonna say that to the people that, that didn’t know Him in the sense that they weren’t loving their neighbor. They weren’t being, they weren’t doing the things that they knew they should do because they were too hard.
And, and we could even end with this, the hardest thing for a human being to do, Ed, is to admit that they’re wrong and to change. Change is synonymous, change is synonymous with repentance. And what is almost every sermon you hear when you go to church? It’s repent, [00:59:00] repent, repent. Why? Because it’s the hardest thing for us to do as human beings is, is to admit that we’ve done something wrong and change. And I’ll tell you something, true peace in this life comes from repenting and from, you know, staying close to the Lord and doing His will for you in your life. And you only find that out through personal revelation through the Holy Ghost. So, that’s what I’ve learned in my life.
[00:59:30] Ed Watters: I want to add to that a little bit, too, David. And always, if you really, truly want to discover what God is talking to you or not, go before the throne boldly, and that is a key. I never, I never got it. I never got it until I wrestled with God, and then I was a changed [01:00:00] man. And that is very, you know, it’s, it’s something to think about. David, I could speak to you for hours on this subject and, you know, to take it further, I think this is one of those callings you might have is podcasting about the word. And you’re very informed, you’re very enlightened, and you can articulate it well. So I very much encourage you to take that bold step and do it. You know, it, it, it will encourage many.
[01:00:37] Dr. David Yates: Oh, it’s, it’s happening.
[01:00:39] Ed Watters: Awesome.
[01:00:41] Dr. David Yates: Yeah, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s happening. I already have the name. My, the name of my podcast is going to be God, Health, and Relationships. And I will be starting it next year, um, 2025. That is one of my goals for 2025, for sure.
[01:00:58] Ed Watters: That, that’s a big step. [01:01:00] And you know, we’re, we’re always here to help you, that’s for sure. David, how can people find you, get a hold of you, and also, do you have a call to action for our listeners today?
[01:01:16] Dr. David Yates: So the way, the, I’m, I’m, I’m, I’m an open book, okay? I’m a very transparent person, I have nothing to hide. I would love to talk to anybody. You, I’ll give you my cell phone number, okay? I’m not afraid to do that because like I said, uh, I’m, you know, my, my cell phone number, my email, my email is easy. It’s dr.dave@godhealthandrelationships.com, that, that’s my email. Um, and then, and then call to action, really the call to action would be to, yeah, you know, communicate with me. I, I believe that I, that [01:02:00] God has prepared me to help, um, individuals, whether you’re dealing with physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, or even financial. You know, the, the five things, you know? I, I feel that I’m prepared, that God has taught me through trial and error in my life to help His children. Any, any problem you’re having in those realms, I would love to talk to you about it. I don’t charge, you know, it’s a free consultation with somebody who, who might understand you better than, than anybody has ever understood you.
[01:02:39] Ed Watters: Very powerful interview conversation today. I want to say thank you, David, for that powerful conversation that we just had. And I’m sure that it’s going to touch somebody, for sure.
[01:02:55] Dr. David Yates: I agree.
[01:02:56] Ed Watters: Thank you for being here, David.
